Inspired by the Paris Opera, of all things, this cake is beyond decadent. The cake layers themselves are composed of a delicate almond sponge that each gets soaked with a sweet coffee syrup. The frosting is a rich brown butter coffee Italian meringue buttercream. Then it gets a good helping of classic ganache, more frosting, and two layers of tempered chocolate for the top and bottom of the cake. The cake measures about 10 inches long and 5 inches thick.
